Lincolnshire motorists warned over icy roads

Motorists have been warned to take care on untreated roads following snowfall in Lincolnshire.

Main roads have been gritted but freezing conditions which followed the snowfall over the weekend have made some minor roads hazardous.

David Davis, from the highways department at the county council, said traffic had caused the snow to disperse but it had then frozen over.

No school closures have been reported in the county.

Tuesday's race meeting at Market Rasen has been cancelled after an inspection at the track on Monday.

Pip Kirkby, managing director, said the course was under snow, frozen underneath and there was no sign of improvement over the next 24 hours.
