School minibus driver seriously hurt in Lincolnshire crash

A bus driver taking pupils home from a Lincolnshire school was seriously injured when his vehicle crashed through a hedge and overturned.

The silver LDV minibus was carrying seven children from Aegir Community Special School in Gainsborough, when it crashed on Top Road near Osgodby.

None of the pupils was hurt.

Police said the driver, believed to be a 55-year-old local man, was airlifted to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Jean Harris, Lincolnshire County Council's transport manager, said the circumstances of the accident would be investigated.
