A caravan park in Lincolnshire has revealed plans for a £4m expansion.

The owners of Skegness Water Leisure Park want to create a further 189 static caravan pitches and add a fishing lake to the site.

A butterfly garden and nature trail are also planned along with five-a-side-football pitches, tennis and badminton courts.

The park's owners, Ellis Bros, said the expansion would create up to 30 new jobs and safeguard 53 existing jobs.

Group manager John Chappell said: "The proposed scheme represents a massive investment in the local economy.

"Anything that helps to improve the facilities available in our coastal resort can only improve the volume of trade that comes here.

"While the sea and the sand do a lot of that for us, people still want more than that these days when they come on holiday."

The planning application will now be considered by East Lindsey District Council.
