Lincolnshire man, 81, dies during A52 crash

An 81-year-old man died when two cars collided on a Lincolnshire road.

A Kia and a Mitsubishi were in collision on the A52 at Swineshead, near the Bicker Bar roundabout, at about 1630 GMT on Sunday.

The man, who was driving the Kia and was from Pode Hole, near Spalding, died at the scene.

A 77-year-old female passenger in the vehicle suffered multiple fractures and is in a critical condition at Boston's Pilgrim Hospital.

Lincolnshire Police said a family from the Horncastle area, who were travelling in the Mitsubishi, were not seriously injured.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
