The final part of a £21m upgrade of the rail line between two Lincolnshire towns is about to be completed.

Network Rail said the track between Boston and Skegness had suffered from years of underinvestment.

As well as work on the line, the project has included a £720,000 renovation of Skegness station.

The final part of the scheme, a £400,000 track replacement at Wainfleet, will mean a bus replacement service during this weekend.

Network Rail said the improvements will mean the service is more reliable and comfortable and could lead to shorter journey times.
