Woman dies following Lincolnshire car crash

A woman has died after two cars collided on a road in Lincolnshire.

Police were called to the A16 London Road, in Driby Top, Alford, at about 14:45 BST on Thursday.

The woman was a passenger in one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver is in a serious condition in hospital.

A three-year-old passenger was taken to hospital, but their condition is unknown. The woman driver of the other car is in a serious condition.

Lincolnshire Police said it believed the casualties were a family of foreign nationals living in the Skegness area and they were trying to confirm their identities and inform relatives.

The road has been closed while the police investigation is carried out.
