Customers in a crowded Lincolnshire pub were forced to flee after a fire broke out that caused the roof to collapse.

The Ingoldmells pub was evacuated and witnesses said the collapse happened within 10 minutes. One person was treated for smoke inhalation.

Emergency crews were called to The Bell Inn on Anchor Lane, at about 21:30 BST on Thursday.

The fire service has cordoned off the scene and said an investigation into the cause was under way.

The pub had recently undergone a major refurbishment and was particularly busy due to a karaoke night.

Owner Frazer Bell said: "We are devastated. This pub has been in the family since 1984.

"The one saving grace is that everyone got out OK and the staff were great, staying calm and getting all the customers out safely."
