Up to 970 new homes could be built in a Lincolnshire town.

A planning application for the development on Legbourne Road, Louth, has been submitted to East Lindsey District Council.

Developers Gladman and AR and MA Prigeon also plan to build a primary school, community facilities and open space on the site.

The council has urged people living near to the proposed development to submit their views.

Chris Panton, the council's planning team leader, said: "The district council has 16 weeks to consider the planning application as it requires an Environmental Statement, and as with any application, we are keen to hear the views of local people on the proposed scheme."
