A 29-year-old man has been charged after a car was driven at a member of staff outside a seaside theme park bar hours after an altercation.

Lincolnshire Police said a man was allegedly assaulted outside the Scallywags bar in Ingoldmells, near Skegness.

Later the same evening, a black car mounted the pavement and was "driven deliberately" at staff, police said.

The man, from Derby, will appear before magistrates in Lincoln on Friday.

He has been charged with three counts of attempted grievous bodily harm, one count of dangerous driving and one count of criminal damage.

Police said the member of staff who was hit by the car escaped injury as they managed to jump just before the vehicle struck and ended up rolling over the bonnet and off the side of the car.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed either incident, between 19:00 and 21:30 BST on Tuesday, to get in touch.
