Police have admitted they still do not know how a man came to be found dead off the coast of Skegness four weeks ago.

Father of one Dean Greenwood was from Leicestershire but his mother told the Leicester Mercury he had gone to Lincolnshire to see a female friend.

The 25-year-old was found four-and-a-half miles out at sea on 20 August.

Police believe he entered the beach close to the Ba Rumba pub in Ingoldmells at 13:00 BST on 13 August.

CCTV footage suggests there were people in the area who may have seen him and police want to speak to them.

A man found Mr Greenwood's mobile phone on a bench and later spoke to his family about returning it.

Police have not traced this man and would like to speak to him too.

The results of a post-mortem examination are yet to be revealed.
