A man who robbed a Lincolnshire post office at gun point before escaping on a quad bike is being sought by police.

Officers said a man wearing a balaclava walked into the post office on Ferry Road, Fiskerton, at about 10:00 GMT.

He threatened a member of staff with what is believed to be a hand gun before making off with several thousands of pounds in cash.

Lincolnshire Police said the robbery might be linked to one earlier this year.

Spokesman Dick Holmes said according to one witness, the man made off across fields on a quad bike.

He said a robbery in Blyton, near Gainsborough, on 6 January, appeared to follow the same pattern.

The Blyton robber threatened staff with a knife, he said.

The offender is described as white, aged about 25, and was wearing a balaclava, a dark grey jumper, dark grey trousers, and work boots.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.
