Market Rasen child abduction attempts woman detained

A woman who was arrested in connection with two attempted child abductions in a Lincolnshire town has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

The 48-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after police received reports of a nine-year-old girl being grabbed outside a chemists in Market Rasen.

There were also reports of a four-year-old boy being grabbed in a newsagents in Queen Street. No one was hurt.

Lincolnshire Police said the woman will be interviewed "in due course".

Det Insp Pete Grayson previously said police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation and had increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance.
