Pc accused of pushing boy through window in Bromley

A Met police officer has been charged with assault after a teenage boy was pushed through a glass window.

Pc Marcus Ballard, 29, faces two counts of common assault over the incident in Bromley, south London, on 27 February.

After a group of youths were confronted by police a boy, 16, was pushed through the window of a kitchen shop.

Pc Ballard, part of the Met Territorial Support Group, is due before Westminster magistrates on 28 September.

He is accused of using "unreasonable force".

The teenager, who was not injured, was arrested for assaulting police but no charges were brought.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) launched an inquiry after colleagues reported concerns to anti-corruption officers after the incident.
