DJ Gifford Noel found dead on his birthday in Tenerife

A DJ has been found dead in his apartment in Tenerife on his 32nd birthday.

Gifford Noel, who used the stage names TNT and DJ Trend, was found by friends in his bedroom last Friday. He had worked in the area for several months.

His mother, Deborah Noel, from east London, found out something was wrong when friends asked the family to contact them through his Facebook page.

Mr Noel had worked with the likes of Dizzee Rascal and the Sugababes.

Spanish police said the DJ had died of natural causes.

His mother said: "Music was his passion."

Dizzee Rascal wore a T-shirt with the slogan RIP DJ Trend on Sunday while judging the final of the Sky television talent show Must Be The Music.

"I have got to say rest in peace DJ Trend, never forgotten, drum and bass specialist, legend," he told viewers.
