Man killed and second injured in Islington shooting

One man has died and another has been left critically wounded in a double shooting in north London.

The pair, both in their 20s, were found outside Strang House, Britannia Row, Islington, at about 0430 GMT.

The man who was killed was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was taken to hospital with injuries which are described as life-threatening.

Police believe they were standing outside the building when they were shot by two other men, who escaped.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Clayman from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said: "We appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or has any information about this incident, to contact us in confidence."
