Murder probe following body find in Battersea explosion

A murder probe has begun after tests on a man's body - found following an explosion in a south London flat - showed he died from head injuries.

Officers found the body in a flat in Crichton Street, Battersea. The flat partially collapsed following the blast in the early hours of Saturday.

The man's body was discovered in the loft conversion of the flat which was completely destroyed.

The victim is yet to be identified and no arrests have been made, police said.

Residents described being woken by two large explosions. London Fire Brigade found the body after putting out the fire in the maisonette.
