Stabbed Ealing policeman Paul Madden leaves hospital
A probationary police officer whose neck was cut by a man with a knife has been discharged from hospital.
Pc Paul Madden, 23, and community support officer Piotr Dolata, 27, were attacked while checking bus fares in Ealing, west London, on 15 December.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said Pc Madden, who suffered serious injuries to his neck, will still need hospital visits but is to make a full recovery.
Pc Madden thanked the public for their concern and good wishes.
John Onyenaychi, 30, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and attacking a third officer.
Mr Dolata suffered less serious injuries and was released from hospital on the day of the attack.
The attack happened at a bus stop on New Broadway when the officers were checking bus passengers had paid their fare.
Mr Onyenaychi has appeared before magistrates and is due at the Old Bailey on 25 March.
