More than 2,200 people have joined an online group appealing for information about a 14-year-old girl from south London who vanished three weeks ago.

Serena Beakhurst, who also uses the surname Dennis, was last seen in Tulse Hill on 15 December.

The Battersea Technology School pupil left her home to attend a course in Mitcham Road, Tooting, but did not return, the Metropolitan Police said.

A page on the Facebook website has urged her to contact her family.

Serena was described as being of mixed race, slim, 5ft 3in (160 cm) tall and with shoulder-length hair.

She was wearing a black leather jacket with a gold zipper when she was last seen, police added.
