Police seek gang over new year attack in South Woodford
Nine people suffered an "unprovoked" assault by five men in east London as they returned home from New Year's Eve celebrations, it has emerged.
Police said a man, 25, had his shoulder dislocated and five friends received minor injuries in George Lane, South Woodford, at 0200 GMT on 1 January.
Three other passers-by were also attacked by the group, who were all aged in their early-20s.
The men escaped on a train from the nearby South Woodford Tube station.
They caught the Central Line towards Leytonstone, police said.
Detectives have asked any witnesses to come forward, particularly if they saw a group of men "acting strangely" around the time of the assaults.
