Man killed in Isleworth lorry crash

A man was killed and another seriously injured in a crash involving a car and a lorry in west London.

The accident happened on the A4 Great West Road, near the junction with Syon Lane in Isleworth, during the rush hour on Tuesday morning.

A 29-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, died at the scene and the car driver remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The lorry driver, a 63-year-old man, was arrested then released on bail.

Appealing for witnesses, police said the Citroen Saxo was travelling on the eastbound carriageway when it collided with the lorry at about 0915 GMT.

A third man, who was also a passenger in the car, is also still in hospital but his injuries were not serious, police said.
