Three attacks on men over the age of 60 in the same area of north London are being linked by police.

On 5 January a 67-year-old was found unconscious near Alexandra Park. He remains critical with head injuries.

On 28 January a 63-year-old was assaulted in Queens Wood, Muswell Hill, and suffered minor injuries.

Then three days later another man, 84, was attacked at the same location. He remains in a critical but stable condition at a north London hospital.

All of the attacks happened near parks.

Det Ch Insp Tim Duffield, of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: "One aspect of our investigation is focused on establishing how the two seriously hurt men sustained their injuries.

"We are eager to speak to anyone who has information about these incidents, particularly those who may have been in or near the parks on the days in question.

"Someone may have seen or heard something that could prove vital to the investigation."

Although the men were over the age of 60, police said it was not yet clear if their age had anything to do with the attacks.
