Man bailed over crash which left one dead, seven hurt
A man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash which left one dead and seven injured has been bailed by police.
A pedestrian in his 20s died and seven people were injured in the crash in East Ham, east London on 29 January.
Seven people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A police spokesman said the man arrested had been discharged from hospital and was later bailed pending further inquiries.
Ambulance crews were called to High Street North at 2240 GMT but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Volkswagen Golf car hit the man and then collided with two other cars.
London fire brigade were called to the scene after one of the cars caught fire and one of the drivers had to be freed from his vehicle.
Police investigations are continuing.
