Man stabbed to death in Leyton cafe row

A man and a woman have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in a cafe in east London.

The victim, aged 63, was attacked in the Roma Cafe in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, on Saturday afternoon.

Police said he was stabbed in the heart and lungs following a row with his attacker in another cafe in the street.

A man, 25, has been arrested in Croydon, south London, on suspicion of murder while a woman has been held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers were called to the cafe at about 1445 GMT. The stabbed man was treated by ambulance crews but died soon after arriving at hospital.

Another man arrested in connection with the inquiry has been released on bail.
