Arrests follow stab attack in Walthamstow, east London

A man and woman have been arrested after a man died after being stabbed in an east London street.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Brunel Road, Walthamstow, at about 0800 BST on Friday.

A 33-year-old man was taken to an east London hospital suffering stab wounds but died shortly after arrival.

A woman, 39, and a man, 43, who were arrested at the scene, were being questioned at an east London police station.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

While officers believe they know who the victim is, and next of kin have been informed, they await a formal identification.
