Police warn residents over antiques scam

Police have warned residents in Westminster about a postal scam being used by conmen to steal from people's homes.

A leaflet advertising a free antiques valuation service has been posted to addresses in the area.

The company name on the leaflet is given as Burlington Galleries, in Westdene, Brighton.

The Met believe this is a cover for a scam used by thieves to gain access to properties.

Sgt Chris Sadler of Warwick Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) advised residents to "avoid this company or any individuals connected with it at all costs and do not believe any information received about them."
