Woman dies after being hit by minibus in Upper Holloway

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a minibus in Islington in north London.

The 53-year-old woman was hit by the bus close to the junction of Hornsey Road and Shaftesbury Road in the Upper Holloway area at 2045 BST on Saturday.

The victim, who has not yet been formally identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the minibus stopped at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said, but he was not arrested.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to the fatal crash to come forward.
