Battersea fatal stabbing victim named as Mahad Mohammed
Police have named a 20-year-old man who was stabbed to death in south-west London.
Mahad Mohammed was found fatally wounded by police close to Pennethorne House on Wye Street, Battersea, at 0130 BST on Wednesday.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were trying to trace a group of youths who had been nearby for about two hours before Mr Mohammed was attacked.
A male teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody at a south London police station.
Police believe Mr Mohammed, from the Winstanley Estate, Battersea, may have been involved in a fight before he was stabbed.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 0205 BST.
His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination was due to take place on Thursday.
Det Ch Insp Dave Manning, who is leading the investigation, said: "We believe that Mahad may have had an altercation with a group of youths earlier in the evening and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this or who may have seen this group in the local area.
"I urge the local community to contact us with information and assist us in finding the person/s responsible for Mahad's murder."
