Man's body pulled from the Thames in Rotherhithe

The body of a man has been pulled from the River Thames in south-east London.

Police had been called to the Nelson Dock in Rotherhithe on Thursday evening to reports of a body in the water.

It followed an incident at just after midnight, when a 30-year-old man was reported in the water with a 22-year-old woman at Dunbar Wharf in Limehouse, east London.

The woman was rescued but the man was not found. Police are awaiting formal identification of the victim.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they were treating the death as unexplained.
