Ealing police appeal over attacked man's identity

Police are trying to identify a man who suffered serious injuries during rioting in west London on Monday.

Officers believe the man may have been attacked after confronting teenagers by the Arcadia Shopping Centre in Ealing.

A group of teenagers were seen setting fire to two large wheelie bins in Springbridge Road at about 22:45 BST.

The man, thought to be in his 40s or 50s, is in intensive care at a west London hospital after he suffered a serious head wound.

He was wearing a grey and yellow check shirt, khaki shorts and brown leather shoes.

The BBC understands that no identification was found on him.

Shops in Ealing were looted on Monday night, as part of disturbances which spread across the capital.
