Fire crews tackle North Acton warehouse blaze

Fire crews have worked through the night to bring a fire at a west London industrial estate under control.

At its height about 75 firefighters tackled the blaze which took hold in warehouses in Gorst Road, north Acton, in the early hours.

About a quarter of the buildings were affected, London Fire Brigade said.

Station Manager Glen Blah said: "Our crews worked really hard in arduous conditions to get this fire under control and to stop it from spreading."

The fire brigade was called at 01:49 BST and at the height of the blaze 15 fire crews and two aerial appliances were at the scene.

The cause of the fire, which was under control by 07:30 BST, is not known but it is not thought to be related to the recent riots.
