Pedestrian hurt by falling branch after lorry hits tree

A woman has been injured by a falling branch after a lorry hit a tree in south London.

The woman was walking to work when the Royal Mail lorry struck the tree outside her office in Blackfriars Road, Southwark, at about 08:30 BST.

Emergency crews were sent to the scene and fire crews held up a blue sheet while paramedics treated her for a leg injury before taking her to hospital.

The ambulance service said the 32-year-old woman was conscious and breathing.
