Three men arrested in connection with the carjack murder of a garage owner have been bailed.

Four men were held after Harjinder Singh Bhurji, 32, was stabbed in Ilford, east London, when he refused to hand over the keys to his Mercedes.

Two men, aged 18 and 17, and a third whose age has not been given, have been bailed pending further inquiries, Scotland Yard said.

A man, aged 20, remains in custody at an east London police station.

Mr Bhurji, from Ilford, east London, was sitting in his car talking to a female friend in Stoneleigh Road when a robber opened the passenger door and dragged the woman from the car.

The victim tried to hide the car keys under his seat but the robber threatened to harm his friend if he did not hand them over.

He was stabbed as he tried to retrieve the keys before the thief drove off with the car in the early hours of Tuesday.

The car, registration number R4 JXW, was found abandoned in Forest Glade, Chingford, east London, less than two hours later.
