Police have released an e-fit picture of a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in Maida Vale, London.

The suspect, who is Asian, attacked a woman in Shirland Road in the early hours of 2 July.

The 25-year-old victim was making her way home from a night out when the man approached her and sexually assaulted her.

No arrests have so far been made and police are continuing with their inquiries.

The man ran off along Shirland Road and disappeared from view along Elgin Avenue after the victim began to scream. A resident living nearby heard the noise and called the police.

The man is described as being aged between 27 and 33-years-old and around 5ft 7ins tall. He had a thin build, short black hair, brown eyes, and was clean shaven.

The man had a mole near his nose or under his eye and spoke with an Indian accent. He was wearing a red and white shirt, and trousers.

Det Con John Stewart said: "This man subjected the victim to a frightening ordeal and I am keen to trace him.

"I need the public's help to try and identify who he is and I am hoping that the release of this e-fit may prompt someone to come forward."
