A teenager has been released on bail after being questioned over the murder of carjacking victim Harjinder Singh Bhurji.

The 18-year-old, bailed until a date in October, was the fifth person to be arrested over the death.

Mr Singh Bhurji, 32, died after being stabbed when he refused to hand over the keys to his Mercedes CLK coupe in Ilford, east London.

His death was condemned by his family as a "senseless crime".

The teenager's arrest followed that of three men, aged 18, 19 and 20, and a 17-year-old boy who have all been bailed pending further inquiries.

Mr Bhurji, from Ilford, was sitting in his car talking to a female friend when a robber opened the passenger door and dragged the woman out in Stoneleigh Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

The victim tried to hide the car keys under his seat but the robber threatened to harm his friend if he did not hand them over.

The car, registration number R4 JXW, was found abandoned in Forest Glade, Chingford, east London less than two hours later.
