Police officers face trial over Hanger Lane 'assault'

Three Metropolitan Police officers are to go on trial accused of assaulting two men who were in a car which had been stopped on the A40 in west London.

PC Anthony Read, 35, was charged along with two other members of the force's Territorial Support Group - PC Karl Bartlett, 42, and PC Colin Nye, 37.

They are accused of assaulting the men near the Hanger Lane Gyratory in March.

The trio's case will be heard from 6 to 9 February at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London.

They were charged following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
