Victoria Tube station escalator refurbishment completed

Work to upgrade escalators at Victoria Tube station has been completed.

Since January a one-way escalator system has been in place during the evening rush hour, restricting entry from the ticket hall to the platforms.

The work was part of a £700m revamp of the station to cope with an increasing number of passengers.

A new ticket hall, nine new escalators and seven new lifts are also being installed as part of the project, which is due to be completed in 2018.
