Two charged over bus abuse attack in Dalston, east London
A pair of teenagers have been charged with stabbing a commuter who stood up for a pregnant woman being abused on a bus.
The woman was abused along with a female pensioner on a route 488 bus in Dalston, east London, last Wednesday.
The victim, 32, was stabbed in the stomach and leg after intervening.
Sanchez Brown and Blake Mehmet, both 18 and from Hackney, were charged with grievous bodily harm and intent to wound at Thames Magistrates' Court.
Mr Brown - also accused of possession of an offensive weapon - was remanded in custody.
Mr Mehmet was released on bail.
The pair will appear in court at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 12 January.
