Motorbike shop raids: Charges over 'smash-and-grab' robberies

A man and four teenagers have been charged after dozens of "smash-and-grab" raids on luxury and electrical retailers in central London.

The suspects, who are aged between 18 and 26, have all been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

They are accused of plotting 48 robberies since April, as well as the theft of 35 high-powered motorbikes.

Among the businesses targeted were Apple's shop in Covent Garden, and the Chanel store on Bond Street.

Lizzie Andrews, 18, of Radnor Street, Clerkenwell, has been charged, along with Reece Jackson, 18, of no fixed address.

Two 19-year-olds are also accused of the crime - Steven Dedman, of Wharton Street, Farringdon, and Bradley White, of George's Road, Holloway.

Anthony Clarke, 26, of Camden Walk, Camden, has been charged as well.

All are in custody and are due in court over the next week, the Metropolitan Police said.
