A man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing inside a nightclub in east London.

Kelvin Easton, 23, was killed inside the La Boheme nightclub in Mile End, early on 27 March this year.

Warren Allen, 29, of Steve Biko Road, Islington is accused of murder and due before Thames Magistrates' Court later.

Mr Easton was reportedly a close friend of Mark Duggan, whose killing by a police firearms officer triggered rioting in Tottenham, in August.

Mr Allen was arrested on Saturday in a joint operation between the Metropolitan and Thames Valley police forces.

Officers also arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. She was bailed until January.

Following Mr Easton's death, a post-mortem examination confirmed he died from a stab wound to the heart.

A total of 12 people have previously been arrested in connection with the attack. One was later released by police with no further action with 11 bailed to return to a north London police station, in March next year.
