Six new Croydon trams unveiled
The first of six new trams has been unveiled in Croydon as part of a multi-million investment in the network.
More than £16m is being spent to increase the London Tramlink fleet, which has seen a 45% increase in passengers since it opened in 2000.
The first tram will be in use by the end of February and the remainder by the summer.
The money is part of a wider regeneration of Croydon which includes £23m from the Mayor's Fund.
Croydon Council has invested £3m in the £16.3m deal to buy the new trams.
