Fourth man charged over Clerkenwell birthday killing

A fourth man has been charged in connection with the murder of Aarron McKoy who died in central London in the early hours of New Year's Day.

He had been celebrating his 22nd birthday when he was shot on Portpool Lane, in Clerkenwell.

Perrie Dennis, 22, from Stoke Newington, will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court later.

Police said the killing followed an altercation outside the Clerkenwell House Wine Bar in Hatton Wall.

A 24-year-old man was also stabbed there and he was taken to hospital but later discharged.

Ceon Hewitt, 21, of Wickford in Essex, is charged with the murder of Mr McKoy, from Hackney, and will appear at the Old Bailey on 13 April.

Alongside him will be Jack Nichols, 20, of Wickford, Essex, and Dean Smith, 25, of Hackney, both charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Kieron Caesar, 23, from Hackney, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a 24-year-old man in Clerkenwell on 1 January.

He will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 22 March.
