Dollis Hill by-election: Liberal Democrats hold seat

The Liberal Democrats have held onto a marginal seat in a by-election.

Alison Hopkins won the Dollis Hill seat in Brent, north-west London, with 1,205 votes - a majority of just 37.

Labour candidate Parvez Ahmed came second with 1,168 votes, Samer Ahmedali for the Conservative party received 140 votes.

The by-election had been called following the death of Lib Dem councillor Alex Castle earlier this year.
