Man shot and two stabbed in Lewisham fight

A man was shot and two were stabbed during an incident in south London.

Police were called at 16:55 BST on Tuesday to reports of a fight in Beckenham Hill Road in Lewisham where they found the three injured men.

All three were taken to hospital by ambulance staff. Two of them - aged 25 and 18 - remain in hospital and they are in a stable condition.

The third injured man has been released from hospital and arrested. In total, 10 people have been arrested.

Eight remain in police custody.

The 25-year-old injured man suffered a bullet wound to the chest while the 18-year-old has a stab injury to his neck.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Trident unit, which investigates gun crime in the black community, found a firearm and a number of knives at the scene.

Det Insp Gill Barratt said: "We want to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident and we are pursuing all lines of inquiry."
