Woman remanded over 'bleach' bottle for boy in Eltham

A woman charged with giving an 11-month-old boy a bottle believed to contain bleach has been remanded in custody.

Elaine Joyner, 53, of Vaughan Williams Close, Deptford, south-east London, is charged with administering a noxious substance with intent to endanger life.

The boy was with his mother in a McDonald's in Eltham when the alleged incident happened on 13 September.

He was sick after swallowing some of the contents.

The baby was then taken to hospital for observation.

Police do not believe anyone else was affected.

Mrs Joyner's case will be heard again at Woolwich Crown Court on 26 March.
