Man dies after Bromley trolley 'row'

A 60-year-old man injured after being hit by a trolley during an alleged altercation has died.

Michael Buckley, of Forest Hill, south London, suffered a broken hip and wrist in the incident at a Marks and Spencer store in Bromley on 22 December.

He suffered further health complications and died on Tuesday, Scotland Yard said.

A post-mortem examination has taken place and further tests to establish the cause of death are continuing.

Police were called to the store in The Glades shopping centre, Bromley, after reports that a man was injured during an altercation.

A spokesman said it is understood Mr Buckley was struck with a trolley being pushed by a woman.

He fell to the ground, suffering injuries including a broken hip and wrist, and was taken to a Kent hospital for treatment.

On Boxing Day police were told he was in a critical condition after suffering further health complications.

A 30-year-old woman arrested on the same day on suspicion of grievous bodily harm has been bailed to return later this month.
