PC admits releasing cocaine woman without charge

A north London police constable has admitted letting a woman arrested for possessing cocaine go free without charge.

Aaron Lloyd Evans-Keady, 26, based at Kentish Town, admitted conspiring to pervert the course of justice at Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday.

He and Kieran Cross, 24, a detention officer, decided not to caution the woman for possession of a class A drug in January 2012.

Both will be sentenced on 3 May.

PC Evans-Keady is suspended from the Met while Cross, who admitted the offence in October, has resigned from the force.
