Central London Tube stations shut after power cut

A number of central London Tube stations were closed following a power failure.

Victoria, Earls Court, Gloucester Road and Knightsbridge stations shut after the power cut, which occurred at 13:13 BST.

Normal service was resumed at all of the stations by 17:25 BST.

About 25,000 households around Buckingham Palace Road were affected by the power cut. UK Power Networks apologised to customers.

It said engineers worked "as quickly and as safely to ensure supplies are restored soon".

A UK Power Networks spokesman said: "We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident."
