Highbury bus stabbing leaves boy, 16, critical

A 16-year-old boy was left critically injured after being stabbed on a bus in north London.

The victim was attacked on a route 393 bus just after 15:20 BST on Tuesday at Highbury New Park, Highbury.

He was initially treated at the scene before being taken by air ambulance to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

Police remained at the scene for several hours.

The attack happened next to Highbury Grove School, which the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber had visited earlier in the day.

There is no indication whether the victim was a pupil at the school.

Lord Lloyd-Webber had been visiting the school to support the launch of a new music charity.
