Highbury bus stabbing: Derek Boateng dies after attack

A boy has died after being stabbed on a bus in north London on his 16th birthday.

Derek Boateng was attacked on a route 393 bus just after 15:20 BST on Tuesday at Highbury New Park, Highbury.

He was taken to hospital but died late on Wednesday. His next of kin have been told, the Metropolitan Police said.

A boy, 15, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Tuesday and remains in police custody. A post-mortem examination is to be held later.
