Man killed in Uxbridge outbuilding fire

A man has been killed in a fire in west London.

Flames took hold of what the London Fire Brigade have called an "outbuilding" in Uxbridge, during the early hours of the morning.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued the man from the brick structure he was believed to be living in, at the rear of a shop.

He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service where he was later pronounced dead.

The LFB was called at 00:25 and said the fire was under control about an hour later.

Two fire engines, 14 firefighters and officers from Hillingdon fire station attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
